Overview
The GV-POE0812 is a rack-mounted Power over Ethernet Plus switch purpose-built for distributed IP camera and PTZ deployments. With eight 802.3at ports delivering up to 30W per port and a 130W aggregate power budget, this switch consolidates power and network delivery to remote camera locations without requiring separate power injectors at each endpoint. Deploy this in security operations centers, network closets, or distributed camera farms where simultaneous high-power devices (PTZ cameras, thermal imagers, or multi-sensor boxes) need stable, centralized PoE delivery.
Compatibility
The GV-POE0812 supports any IEEE 802.3at-compliant PoE+ device: IP PTZ cameras, high-megapixel fixed cameras, thermal imaging equipment, IP intercoms, and access control readers rated for PoE+ operation. Works as an aggregation point in Geovision surveillance networks and integrates with third-party ONVIF-compatible NVRs and management platforms. Eight independent ports allow flexible mixed-device configurations (e.g., four PTZ cameras + four fixed domes + accessories on the same switch).
Installation Notes
1U rack-mount form factor fits standard 19-inch equipment racks. Passive power delivery—no active load balancing or per-port current limiting—means you must pre-calculate total connected load to stay under 130W. Example: four 30W PTZ cameras consume 120W, leaving 10W headroom for a low-power accessory. Plug-and-play network connection to upstream infrastructure; PoE energizes immediately upon power-on. Verify upstream switch or router can handle simultaneous backhaul data and power draw if this switch serves as a secondary aggregator.
