Description

Geovision GV-650-55 Composite Video Input Adapter

Overview

The Geovision GV-650-55 is a composite video input adapter that bridges analog CVBS camera feeds into Geovision digital surveillance systems. If you're running a retrofit deployment where legacy analog cameras remain in the field but your system has upgraded to digital capture cards (GV-650 series or compatible), this adapter handles the signal conversion without replacing the analog hardware. Solves the common retrofit problem: you have existing analog camera infrastructure, but your new NVR or DVR uses digital input modules.

Compatibility

The GV-650-55 pairs with Geovision NVR and DVR systems equipped with GV-650(S) series video capture cards (V3.30 and later) or compatible GV-600, GV-800, GV-804A, GV-1120, GV-1240, GV-1480, and GV-3008 cards. Verify your capture card version before purchase — older revisions may not support this adapter. Requires a system running Geovision V8.9 surveillance software or compatible platform with composite input module support.

Installation Notes

Connect the CVBS (composite) signal from your analog camera to the adapter input, then connect the adapter output to the designated composite input port on your Geovision capture card or external input module. Ensure your system has available input channels and that your capture card firmware is updated to the minimum supported revision. No additional power supply required if your system provides phantom power on the composite input line; confirm with your capture card documentation before installation.
