Overview
The ACTi Q94 is a compact 1MP network dome designed for indoor environments requiring real-time occupancy tracking and reliable low-light performance. Built-in people counting analytics eliminate the need for external analytics servers—occupancy and traffic flow data stream directly from the camera to your NVR or VMS. The Q94 solves the retail, access-point, and building-management problem: you need accurate crowd counts and movement patterns without licensing external software or deploying a separate analytics appliance. 1MP resolution at 720p/30fps delivers sufficient detail for face identification and verification at typical indoor ranges (lobby entrances, retail floors, corridors). H.264 compression keeps bandwidth demand modest—roughly 2–4 Mbps depending on scene motion—so you won't strain a modest PoE switch infrastructure.
Compatibility
The Q94 integrates with any standard ONVIF-compliant NVR, VMS platform, or network video recorder that accepts H.264 streams over IP. Confirmed compatible with Milestone Xprotect, Axis Camera Station, and generic RTSP/ONVIF capable systems. PoE (802.3af) power supply required—verify your switch has available 802.3af ports with sufficient budget (Q94 draws approximately 6–8W). Gigabit or Fast Ethernet networks both work; the camera streams efficiently on 10 Mbps uplinks if bandwidth is constrained.
Installation Notes
Mount on ceiling or wall using the included bracket. The fixed 4.2mm lens (f/1.8, 73.1° horizontal field of view) cannot be adjusted in the field—confirm the lens angle matches your coverage requirement before purchase. PoE power runs direct from your switch; no separate 12V DC supply needed. MicroSD/MicroSDHC slot supports local backup recording up to the card capacity limit (typically 32–64 GB recommended for 48–72 hours of 1MP H.264 at moderate bitrate). Operating range –10°C to 50°C; do not install in unheated outdoor enclosures or direct-sun roof mounts.
