Overview
The ACTi A47 is a 5MP outdoor bullet camera built for perimeter monitoring, transportation facilities, industrial sites, and municipal deployments where environmental durability and variable framing angles matter equally. The motorized 2.8–12mm varifocal lens (4.3x zoom, 103°–62° horizontal field of view) eliminates the need to install multiple fixed-lens cameras—adjust focus and framing remotely during commissioning without relocating the unit. IP66 rating withstands direct rain and dust ingress; IK10 impact resistance survives high-traffic mounting locations and vandalism-prone environments. The A47 draws 13W via PoE 802.3af, so one cable handles both power and data—no auxiliary supply required. Dual-codec support (H.265 and H.264) lets you optimize bandwidth and storage depending on your network capacity. Advanced WDR balances exposure across mixed-lighting scenes (bright doors, dark recesses), while integrated adaptive IR extends visibility into complete darkness. Built-in analytics, 2D+3D noise reduction, and audio I/O support streamline integration into larger surveillance infrastructure.
Compatibility
The A47 integrates across standard ONVIF-compliant VMS platforms including Milestone Xprotect, AXIS Camera Station, Genetec Security Center, and equivalent enterprise systems. RESTful APIs and standard RTSP/MJPEG streaming ensure compatibility with both large-scale surveillance deployments and smaller networked setups. No vendor lock-in—firmware updates and remote management follow industry-standard protocols. Varifocal lens control (focus adjustment via management interface or on-camera controls) is native to ONVIF Profile S implementations.
Installation Notes
Mount on wall or ceiling bracket; verify your PoE switch or injector can source 802.3af current at 13W maximum draw per port. Operating temperature range spans standard outdoor conditions; in freezing climates with heavy fog, IR transmission may degrade—verify your mounting location and expected visibility requirements before final deployment. The motorized varifocal lens requires focus adjustment during commissioning; use the built-in focus motor via your VMS interface or on-camera controls. Metal casing (IK10 rated) conducts and radiates heat more effectively than plastic housings in direct sunlight—confirm your mounting location does not exceed safe thermal limits in extreme climates (check ACTi documentation for specific thermal thresholds).
