The ACTi A213 is a 5MP fixed box camera built for indoor and outdoor surveillance where lens flexibility and WDR performance matter. The A213 ships with a 2.8mm fixed lens but accepts interchangeable CS-mount optics (DC-Iris or P-Iris)—meaning you can swap to a 4mm, 6mm, or wider angle without replacing the camera body. This matters in retrofit or mixed-deployment scenarios where one camera model must cover multiple focal lengths across a facility. The 150dB extreme WDR handles backlit scenes (storefront windows, loading dock doors) without detail loss in shadows or blown highlights. Deep Learning-based object detection (faces, people, cars) runs on the camera itself, reducing VMS processing load and network bandwidth for event-triggered recording.
The A213 integrates into any ONVIF-compliant VMS supporting Profile S, G, T, and M—covering Milestone XProtect, Genetec Security Center, Axis Companion, and open-source systems like Frigate or ZoneMinder. Ethernet connectivity is standard 10/100 Base-T RJ-45; PoE+ (Class 3, IEEE 802.3af) powers the camera without a separate 12V supply. Audio input via mic-in or line-in allows two-way communication or event-triggered sound logging. The camera streams simultaneously on up to three independent streams (different resolutions and codecs), allowing high-bitrate primary recording paired with lower-bitrate mobile or VMS preview streams.
Operating temperature range −10°C to 50°C constrains deployment in unheated or non-cooled spaces (freezers, direct sunlight without shade). IP66 rating protects against dust and direct water spray, but not full submersion—confirm adequate eaves or enclosure for exposed locations. CS-mount lens swap requires a lens wrench; verify DC-Iris or P-Iris compatibility before purchasing third-party optics. Wall, ceiling, pole, corner, and rack mounting brackets are sold separately (not included). The 420g (0.926 lb) weight is light enough for most standard mounting hardware.
