Speco Technologies APP36 Professional Plus Upgrade Module
Overview
The APP36 is a software upgrade module that converts a Speco Advantage access control system to Professional Plus capability, enabling 5–36 door capacity. If you've deployed an entry-level Advantage system and now need to scale beyond 4 doors without replacing hardware, this upgrade delivers expanded reader support, higher cardholder and event limits, and advanced reporting features. Install the APP36 license on your existing Advantage controller to unlock Professional Plus functionality immediately.
Compatibility
The APP36 is a license upgrade for Speco Advantage systems and requires an AP36 hardware module (Professional Plus controller) to function. It is not compatible with standalone Advantage controllers without the AP36 hardware upgrade. If your installation currently runs on an AP4 (Advantage base hardware), you must upgrade to the AP36 hardware module first, then apply the APP36 software license. This is a software-only provisioning step — no physical installation required once the AP36 module is in place.
Capability Expansion Details
With APP36 installed, the system scales from 4 readers (1-4 doors) to 36 readers (36 In / 36 Out), supporting up to 120,000 access cards, 32 cardholders per card, 50,000 transaction log events, and 20 user-defined database fields. Event and audit reporting moves from standard pre-defined templates to include custom report generation. Floor plans now support active alarm acknowledgement and elevator output integration. Mobile app support (Android and iOS, cloud and P2P) becomes active. Concurrent operator login increases to 10, with 25 defined access levels and 250 access schedules.
Installation Notes
This is a license activation only — no physical installation. The APP36 code is provisioned at the AP36 controller during initial setup or applied as a retrofit to an existing Professional system. Verify AP36 hardware is installed and online before applying the license. No tools, cables, or field wiring changes are required.
