Overview
The Camden CX-95S-DH-FL is a floor-mounted electromagnetic door holder engineered for controlled access environments where you need reliable door retention in high-traffic commercial, institutional, and industrial settings. Unlike surface or flush-mount variants, the floor-mount configuration positions the magnet at the base of the door frame, delivering vertical stability and protection from damage during passage. The CX-95S-DH-FL holds doors open under power and releases them on command from your access control system — a standard integration pattern in apartment buildings, schools, hospitals, offices, and public facilities where fail-safe door control is required.
Compatibility
The CX-95S-DH-FL integrates with any 12V or 24V DC power source (or 120V AC alternative) supplied by an access control panel, relay module, or dedicated power supply. It is device-agnostic and works with HID, Salto, Allegion, Honeywell, and other panel architectures that can provide the required voltage and current draw (30–57mA depending on voltage selection). The adjustable armature plate compensates for minor door frame misalignment, reducing the need for shim installation during commissioning. Mounting hardware is included; optional 3-inch and 7-inch extension bars (CX-95S-3E and CX-95S-7E) are available separately if your door geometry requires offset positioning to clear strike plates or frame lips.
Installation Notes
Floor mounting requires a concrete foundation or reinforced steel subfloor to resist 35 lbs of shear force (the maximum holding capacity at 24V AC/DC). Verify door opening direction and frame condition before drilling anchor holes — armature alignment is critical to consistent performance. At 12V, holding force drops to 30 lbs; at 120V AC, expect 18 lbs — confirm your panel voltage before purchase. The magnet assembly (surface-mount variant: 2-3/4″ W × 4-5/8″ L × 2-1/2″ D) and armature (2-9/16″ × 2-9/16″ × 2-7/8″) must clear door swing radius and adjacent hardware. Wire through conduit to protect low-voltage leads from foot traffic and moisture intrusion.
