Camden CX-95S-DH-BK Magnetic Door Lock
Overview
The Camden CX-95S-DH-BK is a surface or flush-mount electromagnetic door holder rated for 35 lbs holding force at 24V AC/DC. It solves the problem of fail-safe door control in commercial access control deployments — schools, hospitals, offices, apartment buildings — where you need the strike to release under power loss or control signal. The CX-95S-DH-BK mounts to the door frame and works with standard access control relays and power supplies to lock or release doors on command.
Compatibility
The CX-95S-DH-BK integrates into any access control system that supplies 12V AC/DC, 24V AC/DC, or 120V AC power to a door release relay. It pairs with standard card reader architectures, credential management platforms, and door control interfaces common in commercial access control installations. No proprietary protocol required — it is a passive electromagnetic device that energizes via control relay output. Compatible with both distributed (card-reader-per-door) and centralized (panel-relay-per-door) architectures.
Installation Notes
Mount the magnet housing to the door frame; mount the armature plate to the door itself. The adjustable armature plate compensates for door alignment variance, reducing field-alignment callbacks. Current draw is minimal (30–57 mA depending on voltage), so it does not strain typical 500 mA PoE supplies or dedicated 24V relay outputs. Choose 24V AC/DC for full 35 lbs holding force; 12V yields up to 30 lbs; 120V AC yields 18 lbs. Optional 3" or 7" extension bars are available separately to increase magnet-to-armature distance on recessed or deep-frame installations. All mounting hardware is included.
