Overview

The Comnet CNEE1 is a base electrical enclosure kit engineered for pole-mount surveillance and networking installations where you need weatherproof, UL-listed housing for power supplies, switches, and cabling. The kit includes a polycarbonate enclosure, DIN rail, mounting brackets, and cable glands — everything required to mount networked equipment outdoors without a separate purchase order. Internal dimensions of 7.297" × 9.297" × 6.5" (W × H × D) accommodate a single power supply and small network switch with room for cable management. The CNEE1 meets NEMA ratings 1, 2, 3, 3R, 4, 4X, 5, 6P, 12, and 13, meaning it handles rain, dust, corrosion, and temporary submersion depending on your specific deployment zone.

Compatibility

The CNEE1 works with any standard surveillance power supply (typically 24V AC or 48V DC units under 300W) and compact network switches (managed or unmanaged, 5–8 port). The base kit includes one 3/8" NPT gland for AC mains input and two 3/4" NPT glands; additional glands accept cables up to 6 mm in diameter. It integrates with pole-mount systems via included brackets and pairs with optional accessories: the CNEEPM Uni-Strut pole bracket (supports 2"–12" diameter poles) and the CNEEBP back plate for mounting Din-rail-compatible breakers, terminal blocks, or additional hardware inside the enclosure.

Installation Notes

The polycarbonate construction with molded hinges eliminates rust concerns common in metal enclosures. Stainless steel tamper-resistant screws are included and recommended for outdoor installations subject to theft or vandalism. UL94V-0 flame rating indicates the material will not propagate flame in electrical fault scenarios. The enclosure is designed to IP68 standards (full submersion protection under IEC 529), exceeding typical outdoor surveillance requirements. Verify NEMA rating alignment with your site's environmental classification before mounting — NEMA 4X (highest corrosion resistance) is recommended for coastal or chemical-spray environments; NEMA 3R is adequate for rain and dust in temperate zones. Ensure DIN-rail equipment draws less than the combined thermal capacity of the enclosure (no internal cooling); ventilation holes are not provided, so avoid continuous high-load installations in direct sun without external airflow management.
