Overview
The ACTi B65 is a 2MP indoor dome camera built for retail floors, office corridors, and institutional hallways where you need clear identification-grade footage without excessive storage overhead. The B65 combines 3x optical zoom with IR and Day/Night performance, allowing you to adjust framing for specific coverage areas and maintain usable video around the clock. It draws PoE (802.3af) power—typically under 13W—so you won't strain your switch's power budget and can run data and power on a single cable run. The compact dome form factor mounts flush to ceilings, making it discreet in customer-facing spaces and difficult to tamper with.
Compatibility
The B65 integrates with any standard IP surveillance management platform or VMS that supports ONVIF and HTTP protocols. It functions as a standalone camera on a network switch with PoE delivery, or as part of a multi-camera system fed into a networked NVR. No special drivers or proprietary middleware are required—treat it as a standard ONVIF IP camera during provisioning. Confirm your VMS supports 2MP H.264 or MJPEG streams and standard PoE power delivery before deployment.
Installation Notes
Mount the B65 to standard ceiling or wall fixtures using the included dome bracket. The camera requires a single PoE (802.3af) cable run—no separate power supply needed. Ensure your PoE switch has available power budget; the B65 draws approximately 12–13W depending on IR intensity and zoom position. Position the dome to avoid direct sunlight on the lens during peak hours to minimize WDR artifacts. The varifocal zoom allows field-of-view adjustment after installation without removing the camera.
