Description

APC by Schneider Electric AP7998B Switched PDU

Overview

The APC by Schneider Electric AP7998B is a switched, rack-mountable Power Distribution Unit (PDU) designed for precise power control and monitoring in IT environments. It provides 24 AC outlets (18x C13, 6x C19) and a CS8365 input connector, supporting a nominal input voltage of 208V and a maximum current draw of 50A. This unit enables remote recycling and power cycling of individual outlets, crucial for managing servers, network switches, and other critical infrastructure where remote troubleshooting or rebooting is required without physical access.

Compatibility

This PDU is designed for integration into standard 19-inch racks, utilizing 0U vertical space. It is compatible with IT equipment requiring 208V power distribution and is suitable for deployment within APC's EcoStruxure IT management ecosystem or other enterprise data center infrastructure management solutions. The CS8365 input connector is standard for 50A, 208V circuits in many North American data center deployments.

Installation Notes

The unit requires a 208V, 50A, 3-phase circuit with a CS8365 plug. The integrated cable management and 3.05m (10 ft) power cord facilitate clean installation. The PDU features overload protection and an alarm indicator for immediate status feedback. Its 50A maximum current capacity and 12500 VA load capacity must be considered against the total connected equipment draw to prevent overloads.
