Overview

The Middle Atlantic PD-915R is a 1RU rackmount power distribution unit delivering 9 NEMA 5-15 outlets across a single 15A circuit — 8 outlets at the rear for permanent equipment connections and 1 front-facing outlet for quick-access or temporary loads. Designed for standard 19-inch rack enclosures, the PD-915R fits installations where you need organized AC distribution, basic surge and spike protection, and a tight vertical footprint inside an AV, security, or IT rack. At 9.6 inches deep, it integrates cleanly into shallow-to-mid-depth racks without blocking rear cable management. The 9-foot power cord gives enough slack for typical floor-standing racks without requiring an extension. Input is 120V AC / 60Hz / 15A — match this to a 20A-minimum dedicated circuit for headroom.

Compatibility

The PD-915R fits any standard 19-inch rack enclosure and works alongside the full Middle Atlantic rack and enclosure line, including their BGR, BGRT, WMRK, and ERK series cabinets. NEMA 5-15 outlets accept standard North American 3-prong plugs, making it compatible with virtually any low-to-mid draw rack equipment: network video recorders, PoE switches, managed switches, patch panels with active components, and small servers drawing under 15A total. Not suitable for equipment requiring NEMA 5-20 or 6-15/6-20 receptacles, or for loads that cumulatively exceed 15A (1,800W at 120V) — plan for 80% continuous load max, which puts the practical ceiling at 12A / 1,440W across all connected devices. UL listed for both the US and Canada, so it clears compliance requirements for commercial security and AV installations in both markets.

Installation Notes

Mounts in 1RU of a standard 19-inch rack. The 9.6-inch depth requires at least that much clearance behind the rack rails. Front outlet placement is useful for service access but should not be used for permanently wired equipment — reserve it for test equipment or short-term connections. Surge and spike protection is basic-grade; for sensitive NVR or server equipment in environments with frequent power anomalies, pair this with an upstream UPS or line conditioner for added transient suppression and runtime.
