Overview

The PDC-915R-2 is a 1U rackmount power distribution unit from Middle Atlantic's PDC Series built for 19" EIA-compliant equipment racks running on 120V 60Hz circuits. It delivers 15A of protected power across 9 NEMA 5-15R outlets — 1 on the front panel for accessible connections and 8 on the rear for permanent device wiring. Two of those outlets are dry contact controlled, letting you tie outlet switching into a relay or external trigger without network access or software — useful in AV, surveillance, and access control racks where you need hardware-level power sequencing or remote reboot control. The 2-stage surge suppression adds a layer of protection between your 15A breaker and the equipment connected downstream. A front-panel power switch gives you a single point to cut power to the entire strip without reaching behind the rack. The 9 ft, 14 AWG input cord on a NEMA 5-15P plug provides enough slack for most rack-to-wall or rack-to-UPS runs without an extension.

Compatibility

Fits any standard 19" EIA rack enclosure at 1U height — compatible with Middle Atlantic's own rack cabinet lines (ERK, PD, and WR series enclosures) as well as third-party 19" racks from APC, Tripp Lite, Panduit, Rittal, and Chatsworth. The NEMA 5-15R outlets accept all standard NEMA 5-15P plugs (15A max per outlet, 15A total circuit). Pair with a UPS or battery backup upstream to cover both surge and outage protection — the PDC-915R-2 handles surge suppression but does not provide battery backup on its own. The dry contact controlled outlets integrate with relay output devices, access control panels with relay boards, or automation controllers that supply a dry contact closure signal.

Installation Notes

Mount in a standard 1U rack slot using the integrated rack ears — no additional mounting hardware listed in evidence. Run the 9 ft input cord to a 15A dedicated circuit or UPS output; do not exceed 15A total draw across all 9 outlets or the circuit protection will trip. Wire dry contact trigger lines to the appropriate relay output on your controller before powering up. Front power switch position (on/off) affects all non-controlled outlets simultaneously — plan sequencing accordingly if mixing controlled and uncontrolled loads.
