The Geovision 125-EBD8800-000 is an 8MP eyeball camera purpose-built for surveillance environments where ambient light is unreliable or insufficient. This model combines native super low lux sensitivity with active IR illumination and Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) processing to maintain usable detail in near-darkness, backlit scenes, and mixed lighting conditions. Deploy it where upgrading site lighting is impractical—ATM alcoves, warehouse perimeter after hours, retail loss prevention in dim aisles, or access control points with shadowed approaches. The 8MP sensor delivers forensic-grade resolution for facial recognition and license plate capture at modest distance, even when IR carry the image.
This camera integrates with any IP surveillance ecosystem supporting standard ONVIF Profile S streams: commercial-grade NVRs (Geovision, Milestone, Axis Camera Station), VMS platforms, and edge storage appliances. Network-based provisioning allows remote configuration and centralized playback across multi-camera installations. Pair with network video recorders or standard PoE switches for power and data transport. No proprietary hardware required—standard RJ-45 cabling and 802.3af or PoE+ sourcing (verify wattage against your switch budget) are sufficient.
Mount the eyeball dome to ceiling or wall using the included bracket. Ensure clear line of sight to the scene; IR performance degrades with reflective obstructions (glass, polished metal). Allow adequate clearance for the IR emitters—do not block the front face. Run standard Cat5e/Cat6 cabling to a PoE-capable switch; verify the switch can supply the required wattage (typically 10–15W depending on IR load and resolution streaming mode). Configure DHCP or static IP and integrate into your VMS for remote access and alarm event routing.
