Overview
The CS19208 is a rack-mount, 8-port KVM switch that gives you keyboard, video, and mouse control over up to 8 systems from a single console — and cascades up to 128 ports when chained with compatible ATEN units. It supports DisplayPort at 4096 x 2160 @ 60Hz and HDMI at 4096 x 2160 @ 60Hz, so it fits workstation and server environments where 4K output is a hard requirement, not a nice-to-have. Port selection goes four ways: OSD menu, hotkey sequences, front-panel pushbutton, or RS-232 commands — useful when the switch is in a locked rack and direct button access isn't practical. The CS19208 also surfaces two USB3.1 Gen1 Type-A ports on the front panel, giving connected operators access to USB peripherals without running cables to individual servers.
Compatibility
The CS19208 is compatible with systems presenting USB keyboard and mouse interfaces and DisplayPort or HDMI video output. It cascades with other ATEN CS192xx-series KVM switches to reach up to 128 managed ports in a single logical installation. RS-232 command control integrates with datacenter management controllers and automation platforms that issue serial port commands. The front-panel USB3.1 Gen1 hub ports accept standard USB peripherals including flash drives, USB dongles, and input devices.
Installation Notes
The CS19208 is a rack-mount unit — confirm rack space allocation before ordering. Humidity must stay at or below 80% RH, non-condensing; this rules out unconditioned or outdoor enclosures without supplemental environmental control. Auto-scan interval is configurable from 0 to 255 seconds (default 5 seconds) — set appropriately for your monitoring workflow to avoid missing active sessions. Firmware is field-upgradeable; a dedicated slide switch on the unit enables firmware upgrade recovery mode, and the current release is v1.2.111 (2026-01-21).
