Overview

The Middle Atlantic HP500 is a 500-piece bulk pack of 10/32 Phillips truss-head rackscrews in black oxide finish with factory-installed washers. These are the standard hardware for populating Middle Atlantic rack enclosures and any other equipment rail tapped to the 10/32 thread standard — the most common thread spec in commercial AV, IT, and rack accessories. The truss head profile sits low and wide, distributing clamping load across the rail flange without digging into rack ears on 1U and 2U panel equipment. Factory-installed washers mean no fumbling with loose hardware during a dense rack build — each screw arrives ready to drive. Having HP500 on hand before a rack installation prevents the single most common mid-install delay: running short of screws on a 42U populated build.

Compatibility

Compatible with any rack rail tapped to the 10/32 thread standard, including Middle Atlantic rack frames, rack enclosures, and rails across the ERK, WRK, and BGR series. Also fits third-party 10/32-tapped EIA-310 standard racks from manufacturers including Panduit, Belden, and most server rack enclosures. Not compatible with M6-threaded rails (common in server/telco cabinets) or 12-24 threaded rails found in some older broadcast equipment. Verify your rail tap before ordering — 10/32 and M6 are not interchangeable. At 0.75 inches in length, these screws seat flush in standard 3/16-inch rail stock with thread engagement to spare; they will not bottom out in typical rack rail thickness.

Installation Notes

Drive style is Phillips — a #2 Phillips bit seats correctly. Avoid over-torquing: truss-head screws in steel rail strip easily if driven with an impact driver at full torque. Hand-drive or use a screwdriver at low clutch setting. Black oxide finish is cosmetic and does not provide corrosion resistance for outdoor or high-humidity environments — these are intended for indoor rack installations.
