Overview

The CNFE5SMSPOE is a five-port self-managed Ethernet switch designed for surveillance and industrial networks where you need local PoE distribution without managed-switch complexity. Ports 1–4 deliver 30W PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at) per port — enough to power most 5MP and 4K surveillance cameras, thermal units, or PTZ heads — while port 5 acts as an uplink to your core network or another switch. Plug-and-play operation means no CLI configuration or VLAN setup; the unit ships pre-programmed to prevent broadcast flooding, so you mount it, wire it, and move on. Deploy it in equipment racks, wall-mount enclosures, or standalone on a shelf in cable trays or junction boxes.

Compatibility

The CNFE5SMSPOE works with any standard Ethernet device: IP cameras (Axis, Hikvision, Dahua, Uniview, etc.), thermal cameras, PTZ heads, encoders, intercoms, access control readers, or network recorders that accept 10/100 Mbps Ethernet and draw ≤30W via PoE+. Auto-negotiation on all ports handles mixed 10 and 100 Mbps equipment and supports full or half duplex operation. Automatic MDI/MDI-X crossover eliminates the need for crossover cables. No driver or firmware updates required — use it as received from the factory.

Installation Notes

Supply the unit with 48VDC from the included PS48VDC-5A power supply. Max power draw is 12W; if you load all four PoE ports at 30W each, peak demand is ~120W, so the 5A @ 48V supply (240W capacity) handles full load with margin. Operates from -40°C to +75°C ambient and survives storage to +85°C. NEMA TS-1/TS-2 certification confirms resistance to mechanical shock, vibration, humidity with condensation, and transient voltage surges on all power and signal lines — suitable for outdoor cabinets, traffic signal enclosures, or harsh industrial environments. LEDs on the front panel show power, activity per port, and link status; no serial console or web interface required for troubleshooting.
