The CNGE8MSK is a hardened 8-port managed switch designed for surveillance and security deployments where you need mixed copper and fiber connectivity in a single chassis. It combines four 1000Mbps TX ports (RJ45) with four SFP slots, allowing you to deploy copper PoE cameras on short runs while extending long-distance links via single-mode or multimode fiber — critical when your camera infrastructure spans multiple buildings or requires isolation from electrical noise in harsh industrial environments.
This is a managed switch, which means you can configure VLANs, QoS, and port mirroring to segregate surveillance traffic from critical network segments and prioritize real-time video streams. The kit includes two SFP-6 transceiver modules and dual redundant power supplies (PS-AMR2-12), so a single PSU failure won't crash your surveillance backbone.
The CNGE8MSK integrates into any surveillance network running standard 1000BASE-T cameras, encoders, or NVRs with Gigabit Ethernet ports. The SFP slots accept industry-standard SFP transceivers (included SFP-6 units support 1000BASE-SX short-range fiber), so you can extend to fiber-connected network racks, remote camera arrays, or geographically distributed recording nodes. Managed switching features (VLAN, RSTP, port mirroring) work with any ONVIF-compliant or standard Ethernet-based surveillance system — no proprietary drivers required.
The dual power supply architecture (PS-AMR2-12) means you can wire one PSU to each building power circuit or UPS channel for true redundancy — if one supply fails, the switch stays online. Mount the switch in a DIN-rail enclosure or wall-mounted rack; the hardened chassis is rated for industrial temperature swings typical of outdoor electrical closets and equipment shelters. SFP transceivers are hot-swappable — no downtime to swap a fiber module if you need to change link distance or fiber type. Verify SFP compatibility with your fiber runs before installation; the included SFP-6 modules are short-range (multimode), so long-distance single-mode deployments require separate SMF transceivers.
