Overview

The Middle Atlantic VT4 is a passive 4-rack-unit vented filler panel designed to manage airflow in standard 19-inch equipment racks. At 64% open area, it moves substantially more air than solid blanks — a meaningful difference in densely loaded racks where NVRs, PoE switches, and power supplies generate sustained heat. The VT4 fills dead space in a rack enclosure while keeping the front panel consistent with Middle Atlantic's flanged-style lineup. At 0.51 inches deep and 7 inches tall, it sits flush with shallow-flanged rails without interfering with adjacent equipment. The black powder coat finish matches standard Middle Atlantic rack aesthetics.

Compatibility

The VT4 fits any standard EIA 19-inch rack with a 4RU opening — compatible with the full range of Middle Atlantic rack enclosures including the ERK, BGR, PD, and WRK series, as well as third-party EIA-310-compliant frames from manufacturers like Chatsworth, Kendall Howard, and Tripp Lite. Two mounting points (one per ear) secure it to square-hole, round-hole, or threaded rack rails using standard M6 or 12-24 cage nuts and screws. It does not block light or hinge — purely a static, passive panel. Not TAA compliant; factor that in for government or federal deployments where TAA is required on all rack components.

Installation Notes

Panel mounts via 2 points (one per flange ear) to standard 19-inch rails. Confirm 4RU of continuous open space before ordering — the VT4 does not split across occupied RUs. No tools beyond a standard screwdriver and appropriate cage nuts for your rail type are required. Shipping weight is 0.8 lbs; the panel itself is lighter — straightforward single-person install.
