Description

Middle Atlantic VTF4 4U Vented Rack Panel

Overview

The VTF4 is a 4-rack-unit (7 in.) flanged vent panel from Middle Atlantic, designed to improve passive airflow in 19-inch equipment racks. Its fine perforation pattern delivers 25% open area — enough to allow convective heat dissipation between active components without compromising structural rigidity or cable management. Deploy the VTF4 as a spacer above or below heat-generating gear: NVRs, PoE switches, video encoders, or UPS units where blank panels would trap heat and vent panels with coarser patterns leave too much open space. The black powder-coat finish blends with standard rack furniture. At 0.51 in. deep and 1.5 lbs. shipped, it adds negligible weight and depth to any rack build.

Compatibility

Fits any standard EIA-310 19-inch rack with standard rack unit spacing — compatible with Middle Atlantic's ERK, BGR, PD, and WMRK enclosure series, as well as third-party open-frame and enclosed racks from Belden, Legrand, Chatsworth, Panduit, and similar. The flanged mounting style seats against front rack rails using 2 mounting points (one per side), which is standard for all EIA two-post and four-post rack configurations. Confirm your rack accepts flanged panels if mixing with flush-mount rail systems.

Installation Notes

Mounts to front rack rails at 2 points — standard 10-32 or 12-24 cage nuts apply depending on your rack rail spec. Panel is not hinged and provides no light blocking, so plan cabling and indicator visibility accordingly. Not TAA compliant — factor this in for federal procurement or TAA-restricted project bids.
