Description

Middle Atlantic EB4 4U Flanged Blank Rack Panel

Overview

The Middle Atlantic EB4 is a 4U (7-inch tall) flanged blank panel designed to close off unused rack space in standard 19-inch enclosures. Open rack slots create airflow bypass — hot air recirculates through unused openings rather than exhausting through the equipment. Installing the EB4 forces cooling air through active equipment instead, which matters in any populated security rack or AV enclosure where thermal management affects uptime. The EB4 ships as a single panel in a flat black powder coat steel finish, blending cleanly with Middle Atlantic rack enclosures and most third-party 19-inch frames.

Compatibility

Fits any standard 19-inch EIA-310 rack rail system — including Middle Atlantic rack enclosures, wall cabinets, and open-frame racks. Also compatible with third-party 19-inch two-post and four-post frames that use standard rack unit spacing. The flanged mounting style provides a secure, flush-mount seating against rack rails without requiring a cage nut strip or secondary hardware on most rack types. Suitable for use alongside rack accessories and equipment in network, security, and AV rack builds where open bay coverage is needed. At 4U, this panel covers the equivalent of roughly four 1U devices — useful when consolidating equipment and leaving planned expansion slots clean and closed during initial switch or NVR deployment.

Installation Notes

Panel is 0.52 inches deep — minimal intrusion into the rack interior. Two mounting points (one per rail) are standard for this flange style; no cage nuts required on flanged-rail enclosures. Verify your rack's rail-to-rail depth accommodates the 19-inch panel width before ordering in bulk. Shipping weight is 2.4 lbs for a single unit.
