Description

Middle Atlantic SECL-4 4U Hinged Smoked Plexi Security Cover

Overview

The Middle Atlantic SECL-4 is a 4U (7 in.) hinged smoked plexi security cover designed for standard 19-inch rack enclosures. It installs in front of rack-mounted equipment to deter unauthorized access — a common requirement in shared telecom closets, classroom AV racks, and light-commercial security head-end racks where the gear is exposed but must be tamper-resistant. The smoked plexi finish lets technicians visually confirm indicator lights and display status without opening the panel, avoiding unnecessary downtime during routine checks. The SECL-4 spans exactly 4 rack units, so it must align precisely with the equipment block you're protecting — no trimming, no modification required for a clean fit.

Compatibility

Fits any Middle Atlantic rack or third-party enclosure built to the EIA-310 standard 19-inch rack form factor. The SECL-4 covers 4U of panel space (7 in. tall, 19 in. wide), making it a direct match for rack-mounted NVRs, patch panels, AV receivers, and multi-port power strips occupying that footprint. It mounts via 2 mounting points — verify your rack's rail hole pattern accepts standard rack screws before ordering. Not suited for deep rackmount chassis where the cover's 1.96 in. depth would conflict with cable management arms or side-entry wiring.

Installation Notes

Depth is 1.96 in. (5 cm) — measure clearance between the front rail and any door or adjacent panel before install. The hinged design swings open for access without full removal, which matters in tight deployments where pulling a panel is disruptive. Two mounting points secure the cover to the rack rails; standard rack screws (M6 or #12-24 depending on your rail type) are required and are not included — confirm your rail hardware before install. The smoked plexi finish is fixed; no field-tinting option exists.
