The ATEN VM8514 is a 4-port HDBaseT output board designed to expand the reach of ATEN’s modular matrix switch systems. It enables you to distribute video and audio signals, along with IR control, over a single Cat 6a cable up to 100 meters. This board is critical for large-scale AV deployments where extending signal distance without signal degradation is paramount, such as in commercial installations, digital signage, or command centers. The VM8514 integrates seamlessly into compatible ATEN matrix switch chassis, providing a flexible and scalable solution for extending your AV reach.

Compatibility

This output board is designed for use with ATEN’s modular matrix switch chassis. It is compatible with specific ATEN modular matrix switch models that support HDBaseT output modules. Ensure your matrix switch chassis has available slots and supports the VM8514 for full functionality. It is engineered to work with Cat 6a cabling for optimal performance and maximum transmission distance.

Installation Notes

The VM8514 utilizes standard 100 Ω impedance cabling. For maximum signal integrity and the specified 100-meter transmission distance, Cat 6a Ethernet cable is recommended. Ensure proper termination of the Cat 6a cables to maintain impedance matching. The board also supports IR signal extension, requiring appropriate IR emitter and receiver connections to the mini stereo jack ports. The operating environment requires a humidity range of 0–80% RH, non-condensing.
