Overview

The ATEN SN1132CO is a rack-mount 32-port serial console server designed for out-of-band management of network devices, servers, and infrastructure appliances in data center and enterprise environments. It gives administrators direct console access to connected devices — regardless of whether the primary network is up — which is the core value in any lights-out or remote-site deployment. The SN1132CO supports five operational modes: Console Management, Console Management Direct, Real COM Port, TCP Server/Client, and UDP Server/Client, covering everything from legacy serial device integration to modern IP-based console workflows. Dual power inputs guard against single PSU failure, and the SFP slot supports fiber uplinks for environments where copper connectivity to the management network is either unavailable or unacceptable. Wide-range AC input (100–240 VAC, 50/60 Hz, 1.0 A) means the unit drops into any standard rack PDU without a voltage compatibility check.

Compatibility

The SN1132CO is compatible with any device exposing a serial console port (RS-232) — including routers, switches, firewalls, servers, KVM switches, and out-of-band accessible appliances across vendors. OS-side drivers are available for Linux (Real TTY, v1.1.101) and Unix (Fixed TTY, v1.1.101), enabling the unit to present serial ports as native TTY devices on the management host — critical for scripted automation and SNMP trap forwarding workflows. Fits standard 1U rack enclosures; recessed mounting is also supported per ATEN's rack-mount product line conventions.

Installation Notes

The onboard relay (1× 2-pin terminal block, normally open, isolated, rated Max 24 VDC / 2 A) supports external alarm or power-cycling integration — wire to your site's alerting or UPS relay circuit within the 24 VDC / 2 A contact rating. A recessed pushbutton reset is accessible without tools. Operating humidity ceiling is 80% RH non-condensing; account for this in raised-floor or high-humidity machine rooms. Firmware is field-upgradeable; current release is v1.1.105 (2026-01-21).
