The CNFE2002S1B is a compact 2-channel 10/100 Mbps electrical-to-optical media converter that combines two copper Ethernet ports into a single 100BASE-FX fiber uplink. Purpose-built for surveillance networks where you need to extend IP camera runs beyond copper distance limits or isolate video traffic on dedicated fiber. The CNFE2002S1B handles multimode fiber to 3 km (2 mi) or singlemode to 20 km (12 mi) — a real factor when bridging a main facility to a remote building or rooftop camera cluster without running new copper conduit.

Compatibility

Works with any standard 10/100 Mbps Ethernet device: IP cameras, PoE injectors, network switches, NVRs, and edge video recorders. The two 10/100 BASE-T ports accept auto-negotiating connections at 10 or 100 Mbps, full or half duplex. The optical port is 100BASE-FX, compatible with any multimode or singlemode fiber infrastructure already in place. ST or SC connectors are user-selectable depending on your fiber plant. Supports 802.3at standard PoE, with optional 30W or 60W PoE+ available on models with the suffix. Link Fault Pass-Through feature detects a downed copper port and signals the failure back through the fiber link to your head-end, reducing MTTR on trunk failures.

Operates -40°C to +75°C in the field and -40°C to +85°C in storage, with 0–95% non-condensing humidity tolerance — deployed in harsh outdoor or uncontrolled-temperature enclosures without concern.
