The ACTi Q84 is a 20MP multi-imager dome that captures continuous 360° coverage using four 5MP sensors in a single compact fixture — eliminating blind spots and the cost of multiple single-perspective cameras. This design is purpose-built for wide-area outdoor surveillance where you need panoramic awareness without architectural compromise: campuses, transportation hubs, critical infrastructure perimeters, and retail yards.
Overview
The Q84 delivers 20MP total resolution across four synchronized sensor channels, each with F1.2 aperture and WDR that handles simultaneous bright and shadowed zones without clipping detail. Its 850nm infrared system extends to 50 meters, enabling night and low-light monitoring at <0.002 lux color sensitivity — useful for shift-change verification and after-hours perimeter sweeps where even moonlight is absent. Compression options (H.265, H.264, MJPEG) allow you to right-size bandwidth: H.265 cuts bitrate roughly 40–50% versus H.264 without quality loss, a real factor on multi-channel streaming. Pan/tilt range covers 0°–360° horizontal and 0°–65° vertical, so each sensor can be aimed independently for fine-tuned framing. The dome carries IP67 (complete dust/water immersion to 1m for 30 min) and IK10 (resists intentional vandalism — impacts up to 20 joules), mandatory ratings for outdoor unattended sites. Built-in 2-way microphone and line-in/out support audio correlation during incident review. Deep Learning analytics (people detection, vehicle detection, line-crossing intrusion) run at the edge, reducing VMS server load and enabling local alarm response.
Compatibility
The Q84 integrates with any IP-based VMS or recording platform supporting ONVIF Profile S, G, T, or M via HTTP/HTTPS and RTSP. It accepts IPv4/IPv6, PPPoE, DHCP, and DNS — standard enterprise network protocols. Power is flexible: DC 24V, AC 24V, or PoE++ (802.3bt) Class 6, so you can wire it to an uninterruptible power supply or a PoE++ switch without a separate PSU. ONVIF compliance ensures vendor-neutral integration; no proprietary middleware required.
