Overview
The EWR-12-17 is a 12-rack-unit open-frame wall rack from Middle Atlantic's Econo Wall Rack line, built for installations where floor space is unavailable and a full-depth enclosure is unnecessary. With 15 inches of usable depth and a 150 lb UL-rated load capacity, the EWR-12-17 handles typical AV and low-voltage equipment loads — patch panels, small switches, power strips, DVRs, and NVRs — without oversizing the enclosure. The pivoting design lets the rack swing away from the wall, giving rear-access without pulling cable or removing equipment. The black wrinkle powder coat finish integrates cleanly in server closets, IDF rooms, and back-of-house AV installs. TAA compliant for government and education procurement. At 65 lbs empty and a shipping weight of 61 lbs, plan for two-person mounting.
Compatibility
Accepts any standard 19-inch rackmount equipment using 10-32 threaded rail — the rack rail type used by the large majority of network, AV, and NVR gear. Fits equipment up to 15 inches deep (usable depth). The 21-inch usable height (12U) accommodates typical small-system builds: a 1U switch, 1U patch panel, 2U NVR, and a 1U power strip, for example. Not suited for deep servers or equipment exceeding 15 inches in chassis depth. For deeper equipment, Middle Atlantic's rack catalog includes deeper EWR variants. Front-door option is not included on this model — open-frame only.
Installation Notes
Overall dimensions are 23.38 in wide × 28 in tall × 17 in deep; verify wall stud or backing-plate layout before mounting. The 150 lb UL load rating applies to the rack itself — confirm the wall structure can support the combined rack-plus-equipment load before install. No front door ships with this unit; if aesthetics or physical security require a door, specify a compatible rack door accessory at time of order. 10-32 cage nuts and mounting hardware are not confirmed in evidence — verify included hardware before install and source 10-32 cage nuts separately if needed.
