Overview
The Middle Atlantic EWR-12-22SD is a 12U wall-mounted rack enclosure built for AV distribution gear, network switches, NVRs, and security control equipment in space-constrained installations. At 22 inches deep with 20 inches of usable depth, the EWR-12-22SD accommodates full-depth 1U/2U network appliances and NVRs without forcing a floor-standing rack into a small IDF closet, server alcove, or back-of-house security room. The pivoting swing-out design lets you access rear cabling without dismounting the unit — a real time-saver when managing patch panels or adding PoE switch uplinks in tight quarters. The front door keeps equipment dust-free and limits casual access in semi-public spaces.
Compatibility
Accepts standard 19-inch EIA rackmount equipment on 10-32 threaded rails — the same rail standard used by Middle Atlantic rack shelves, blanks, and cable management panels, as well as rackmount NVRs from Axis, Hanwha, Hikvision, and i-PRO. The 12 RU of usable space fits a typical small-site network video recorder stack: a 4U NVR, a 1U PoE switch, a 1U patch panel, and a 1U UPS, with room to spare. UL-rated at 150 lbs, so even a fully loaded PoE switch plus dense NVR won't stress the mount — provided the wall structure meets the anchor requirements for that load. TAA-compliant for government and federally funded deployments.

Product weight is 82 lbs unloaded — factor in gear weight when sizing your wall anchors, and verify stud or masonry backing can handle the combined load at the intended mounting height. The 20-inch usable depth leaves 2 inches of margin from the enclosure rear, so route power and data cables with that buffer in mind. Ships at 75.3 lbs; a two-person install is strongly recommended given the enclosure weight prior to loading gear.
