Overview

The EWR-16-17SD is a 16-space, 17-inch-deep pivoting wall rack from Middle Atlantic's Middle Atlantic rack and enclosure line — purpose-built for installations where floor space is unavailable and a modest equipment load needs a secure, door-protected enclosure. The EWR-16-17SD delivers 16 RU of usable rack space with 15 inches of usable depth and a 150 lb UL-rated load capacity, handling most combinations of NVRs, PoE switches, patch panels, and power distribution units typical in small-to-mid security deployments. The solid front door keeps equipment dust-free and limits casual access without requiring a separate locking cabinet. TAA-compliant construction makes it eligible for government and federally funded projects. At 87 lbs product weight, wall blocking or a structural stud mount is mandatory — plan the rough-in before ordering.

Compatibility

The 10-32 threaded rail pattern accommodates standard EIA-310 rack equipment from any manufacturer. It fits network video recorders, managed PoE switches, and patch panels up to 15 inches deep (usable depth). Equipment deeper than 15 inches — including some 1U servers, high-density UPS units, and deep-body NVRs — will not close the door or may bind on the pivot mechanism; verify chassis depth before spec'ing. Mount to structural studs or a dedicated plywood backer rated for the combined enclosure and equipment load — the 150 lb UL capacity plus the 87 lb enclosure weight means your wall anchor system must handle over 230 lbs dynamically. The pivoting mechanism requires clearance behind the rack equal to the enclosure depth (17 inches) to swing open for rear cable access; verify wall clearance before mounting. Black wrinkle powder coat finish resists minor abrasion in active equipment rooms. Rack accessories such as cable management panels and blanking plates can be added post-installation using standard 10-32 hardware.
