ACTi B64 3MP Indoor Zoom Dome Camera
Overview
The ACTi B64 is a 1.3MP indoor zoom dome designed for facilities requiring flexible framing without resolution sacrifice. The 3.0–9mm motorized lens (3x optical zoom) lets operators adjust coverage on-the-fly—useful in retail environments, office lobbies, and corridors where fixed wide-angle framing misses detail at distance. IK09 impact rating makes it suitable for higher-traffic or potentially hostile areas. Powered via PoE+ (802.3at, Class 3), the B64 eliminates separate power runs and integrates into open ecosystems via ONVIF compliance. The model number B64 appears across all ACTi documentation.
Compatibility
The B64 works with any VMS or NVR supporting ONVIF Profile S, G, T, and Q—covering Milestone XProtect, Genetec Security Center, Axis Camera Station, and most third-party platforms. Dual H.264/MJPEG codec support ensures backward compatibility with legacy DVR/NVR systems still running older compression standards. Two-way audio (line-in, line-out) pairs with access-control and intercom systems that expect audio return from the camera endpoint. Manual GPS position setting integrates with multi-site asset-tracking workflows where geographic logging is required. Single RJ-45 connector (Ethernet) is the sole network interface—no separate management ports.
Installation Notes
Operating temperature range of –10°C to 50°C limits outdoor or unheated/uncooled deployments; verify thermal envelope before ceiling-mounted installations in attics or mechanical rooms. Mounting flexibility (wall, pole, pendant, corner, rack) accommodates most architectural layouts, but confirm available space for dome depth (~120mm typical). Pan/tilt/rotation adjustments (Pan 0°–350°, Tilt 5°–175°, Rotation 0°–350°) require clear sightlines during commissioning. PoE+ power budget is approximately 10W typical; verify switch port capacity on existing infrastructure. IR illumination (850nm, 40m effective range) performs best when objects are 5–30m away; beyond 40m, reflectivity of target surfaces dominates usable range.
