Overview

The ACTi A88 is a compact 3MP outdoor zoom dome built for facilities that need optical zoom flexibility in a weatherproof, impact-resistant package. At 0.8 kg with a mini dome form factor, it fits wall, pole, pendant, and corner mounts without requiring structural reinforcement. The 2.85x optical zoom (2.8–8.0 mm focal length) lets you cover wide areas and punch in on details in a single camera — useful when you need fewer units to cover a perimeter or parking lot.

Compatibility

The A88 integrates with any ONVIF-compliant NVR or VMS platform (Profile S, G, T, Q support). It outputs H.265, H.264, and MJPEG streams simultaneously, so it works with legacy systems expecting H.264 while newer infrastructure can decode the smaller H.265 footprint. Built-in VMD (Video Motion Detection) and People Counting analytics function locally on the camera without requiring external processing or higher-tier VMS licenses.

Installation Notes

Operates on PoE Class 3 (802.3af) — no separate power supply required if your switch has budget. Draws power-efficient current; confirm your PoE switch can handle the aggregate load across all cameras. Board mount lens requires careful focus adjustment during installation; use a monitor or mobile client to frame the scene before final fixture. IP66 (dust and water ingress protection) and IK10 (impact resistance to 20J) enable deployment in uncontrolled outdoor environments. Operating temperature range is −20°C to 50°C; verify your mounting location stays within this window year-round. WDR (120 dB Advanced WDR) handles sun-blasted and shadowed areas in the same frame without excessive blooming or halo artifacts. IR LED provides 30m working distance with adaptive output — reduces false color shifts in low-light scenes. Minimum illumination is 0.003 lux in color mode at F1.6; black-and-white mode activates IR automatically below threshold.
