Description

Middle Atlantic BL1/2 Half-Space Flanged Blank Panel

Overview

The Middle Atlantic BL1/2 is a 1/2 rack-unit flanged blank panel designed to fill unused half-space gaps in 19-inch equipment racks. At 0.88 in tall and 0.52 in deep, it covers the narrow open slots that standard 1U blanks can't address — keeping airflow channeled through active equipment rather than bleeding out through empty space. The anodized aluminum construction resists corrosion and holds up in high-touch server room and AV rack environments without flaking or peeling over time.

Compatibility

Fits any Middle Atlantic rack or third-party 19-inch EIA-standard rack enclosure with standard vertical hole spacing. The flanged mounting style seats flush against the rack rail using 2 mounting points — one on each side — making it compatible with both square-hole and round-hole rails when paired with the appropriate hardware. Works alongside Middle Atlantic ERK, BGR, and WRK series enclosures, as well as any open-frame or enclosed 19-inch rack that follows the EIA-310 standard. Pairs naturally with other half-space accessories like the Middle Atlantic BL1/2-V vented variant where selective airflow management is needed across adjacent slots.

Installation Notes

Two-point flange mount — one screw per rail. Panel width is a full 19 in (48.3 cm), covering the complete rack-width opening. Depth of 0.52 in is shallow enough that it won't interfere with cable management or adjacent equipment in tight rack builds. Finish is black brushed and anodized aluminum, matching the standard Middle Atlantic rack aesthetic. No tools beyond a standard rack screwdriver are required.
