Overview

The Middle Atlantic BL1/3 is a 1/3U flanged blank panel designed to fill unused rack unit space in 19-inch enclosures. At 0.58 in tall and 0.52 in deep, it occupies the minimal footprint of a fractional rack unit — useful when equipment layouts leave sub-1U gaps that standard 1U blanks would over-cover. The flanged style means the face plate overlaps the rail mounting surface, keeping airflow blocked at the panel face rather than leaving gaps that let warm exhaust recirculate into intake zones. Aluminum construction with a black brushed and anodized finish matches standard rack aesthetics and resists corrosion without adding meaningful weight — the BL1/3 ships at 0.11 lbs.

Compatibility

Fits any standard Middle Atlantic rack or third-party 19-inch EIA-310 compatible rack enclosure with two-point flange mounting. The 19-inch panel width (48.3 cm) and standard two-hole mounting pattern are compatible with Middle Atlantic ERK, WRK, BGR, and similar open-frame and enclosed rack families, as well as any EIA-compliant rack accepting flanged blank panels. Use in security equipment racks, AV equipment bays, network closets, or any 19-inch installation where fractional RU gaps need to be covered.

Installation Notes

Installs with two fasteners through standard rack rail mounting holes — no special tools required beyond a screwdriver. The 0.52-inch depth means it will not intrude on shallow-depth rack interiors. Verify that the target rack uses standard EIA-310 hole spacing before ordering; non-standard or metric-pitch racks may not accept this panel without adapter rails.
