Overview

The Middle Atlantic EVT2 is a passive 2U rack vent panel designed to fill open rack space while promoting airflow in standard 19-inch equipment racks. At 17% open area, the flanged steel face allows heat to dissipate from chassis below without requiring powered fans — the right call when you need thermal relief in a rack that's running warm but doesn't warrant a full fan tray. The EVT2 mounts in 2 rack units and sits just 0.51 inches deep, so it won't intrude on cable management or adjacent equipment clearances. Black powder coat finish matches standard rack aesthetics in server rooms, equipment closets, and AV/security headend installations.

Compatibility

Fits any standard EIA 19-inch rack with a 2U opening — compatible across the full Middle Atlantic rack and enclosure line including the BGR, BGRT, and PD series racks, as well as third-party 19-inch rack cabinets conforming to the EIA-310 standard. Use it to fill unused rack space in NVR and DVR head-end racks, network equipment enclosures, UPS and power distribution racks, or any 2U gap where airflow matters. The flanged style seats flush against standard rack rails at two mounting points — no adapter or cage nut kit beyond what your rack already uses.

Installation Notes

Mounts at two points on standard rack rail ears. No tools beyond a screwdriver are required. At 0.51 inches deep and 1.1 lbs shipping weight, handling and positioning are straightforward. Note that the EVT2 provides passive ventilation only — 17% open area is suitable for moderate heat dissipation but is not a substitute for active fan panels in high-density or high-wattage deployments. Light blocking is not provided; if light containment is a requirement in a dark rack environment, a solid blank panel is the appropriate alternative.
