Overview

The Middle Atlantic EB1/2 is a 1/2 rack unit flanged blank panel designed to close off unused half-RU openings in 19-inch equipment racks. At 0.88 in tall and 19 in wide, it fills the narrow gaps that accumulate in mixed-density rack builds — common in AV head-ends, security equipment racks, and network closets where cameras, NVRs, and switches leave fractional space between units. Keeping those gaps sealed improves airflow management and prevents cable clutter from migrating between bays. The flat black powder coat finish blends with standard rack equipment, and the flanged steel construction means it sits flush and stable without flexing under light cable pressure.

Compatibility

Fits any standard EIA-310 19-inch equipment rack with 1/2 RU spacing support — including Middle Atlantic's own rack enclosures (ERK, BGR, and PD series rack frames), as well as third-party 19-inch open-frame and enclosed racks from Belden, Chatsworth, Kendall Howard, and similar manufacturers. Two mounting points align to standard rack rail hole patterns. Verify your rack supports half-RU positioning before ordering — some rack rails are drilled in full-RU increments only, which would prevent correct placement of a half-RU panel.

Installation Notes

Two mounting points secure the EB1/2 to standard rack rail hole patterns. The flanged style means the panel face overlaps the rack rail slightly, providing a cleaner finish than unflanged alternatives. Depth is 0.52 in — shallow enough to avoid conflicts with cable managers or PDU mounting hardware immediately behind the rail. Standard rack screws or cage nuts (not included) are used to fasten; confirm your rack rail thread type (10-32, 12-24, or M6) before installation.
