Vivotek SFP-1000-CPTX-X1I Industrial Gigabit SFP Converter
Overview
The SFP-1000-CPTX-X1I bridges fiber optic backbone networks to copper Ethernet endpoints at Gigabit speeds. Deploy this when your surveillance infrastructure runs single-mode or multimode fiber to the edge, but your cameras, switches, or security appliances require standard RJ45 connectivity. The module handles 1000 Mbps data transmission over Cat.5e or Cat.6 cabling up to 100 meters — a real convenience when retrofitting IP surveillance into industrial plants, utility substations, or transportation facilities where fiber runs the backbone but end devices plug into copper.
Compatibility
The SFP-1000-CPTX-X1I works with any standard SFP cage on a network switch, media converter, or fiber-equipped surveillance recorder. It outputs a female RJ45 connector, so you connect directly to IP cameras, NVRs, switches, or security appliances without additional adapters. MSA (Multi-Source Agreement) compliance ensures compatibility with carrier-grade and industrial switch gear from major vendors. Verify your source equipment has an available SFP slot and accepts hot-pluggable modules — most modern industrial switches and managed devices do.
Installation Notes
The compact form factor (68.3 x 13.7 x 13.8 mm) fits standard half-height or full-height SFP slots. Operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C supports outdoor cabinets and uncontrolled industrial spaces without active cooling. Humidity tolerance of 5–90% non-condensing handles temperature swings but not direct condensation. Operates on 3.3V, supplied internally by the SFP cage — no external power required. Auto-negotiation and Auto-MDI/MDI-X detect link speed and cable orientation automatically, eliminating manual configuration. Install the module into the target SFP slot, connect the RJ45 output to your endpoint, and link detection should occur within seconds.
