Overview

The SFP-1000-MM85-X5I is a 1.25 Gbps multimode fiber transceiver designed for industrial surveillance and network expansion in temperature-extreme environments. This module addresses the deployment constraint of extending gigabit connectivity across fiber runs in outdoor or temperature-cycled locations where standard copper PoE switches cannot operate reliably. The -40°C to 85°C operating range makes it suitable for remote surveillance nodes, manufacturing plant backhauls, and harsh-environment field installations where thermal stability is non-negotiable.

The SFP-1000-MM85-X5I is a standard MSA-compliant SFP transceiver compatible with any network switch or media converter featuring a dedicated SFP slot. Installation Notes

The module uses LC duplex connectors for both transmit and receive fiber runs. Multimode fiber supports both 50/125 µm and 62.5/125 µm cabling; confirm your installed fiber specification before deployment. Maximum transmission range is 0.5 km (500 m) over multimode fiber at 1.25 Gbps—plan fiber runs accordingly. The module operates on 3.3V internal supply and draws minimal current; it does not require external power. Insert the transceiver into the target SFP slot with gentle, steady pressure until it clicks; no configuration is required. Avoid handling the LC connector ferrules directly; dust or scratches degrade optical coupling.
