Overview
The Veracity VLT-1N-SC100 is a PoE extender and media converter that transforms 10/100 Ethernet signals into transmission over coaxial cabling (RG-11, RG-59, RG-6) for distances up to 1400 meters (4,600 feet). This solves the core problem: running IP cameras and network devices far beyond standard Ethernet cable limits without trenching fiber or running new copper runs. Deploy it where existing coax infrastructure already runs through walls, conduits, or buried routes — the VLT-1N-SC100 recycles that investment and carries PoE power simultaneously, eliminating the need for separate power supplies at remote endpoints.
Compatibility
Works with any 10/100 Ethernet device — IP cameras, network switches, access control panels, intercoms — that draws 25W or less via PoE (802.3af standard). Compatible with installations using RG-11, RG-59, or RG-6 coax in existing cable runs. Pair it with standard network power injectors or PoE switches at the source end; the converter transparently bridges coax back to copper Ethernet at the far end, requiring no special drivers or management software. Suitable for security systems, industrial networks, and outdoor surveillance deployments where distance and existing infrastructure dictate the media choice.
Installation Notes
The VLT-1N-SC100 requires PoE injection at the source (either from a PoE switch or standalone injector) and transparent copper-to-coax conversion at both ends of the run. Verify coax cable condition and impedance match before installation — corroded or mismatched connectors will degrade signal integrity and reduce effective range. The 1400m maximum range assumes clean cable and proper termination; real-world distance depends on cable type, age, and noise environment. Power budget is fixed at 25W — devices exceeding this draw will not function; use a local power supply for high-draw endpoints if needed.
