The Veracity VLT-SC100-CBB is a PoE extender that stretches both power and data over existing coaxial cable infrastructure to 1400 meters (4600 feet). It solves the classic integration problem: you have RG-11, RG-59, or RG-6 backbone already in place, and you need to push both 802.3af power and 100 Mbps Ethernet beyond the standard 100-meter copper limit. Deploy this at either end of a long run to condition the signal and regenerate power — typical use is extending IP cameras, access control readers, or IoT sensors into warehouse distribution centers, utility tunnels, or campus perimeter zones where distance defeats standard PoE switches.
Works with any 802.3af PoE source (standard network switch, injector, or PoE camera) and any 802.3af device (IP camera, access control, monitoring node) capable of accepting 10/100 Mbps Ethernet. The VLT-SC100-CBB does not impose vendor lock-in — it bridges generic coax runs, so it integrates into mixed-brand surveillance networks. Requires a standard 100Base-TX switch port or PoE injector on the source side and standard RJ-45 termination on the device side. If your existing infrastructure uses legacy twisted-pair PoE over coax (common in older systems), verify termination compatibility before deployment.
Maximum range of 1400 meters assumes quality cable in good condition; signal attenuation increases with cable age and environmental exposure. At the extended distance, you may see slower throughput or intermittent power dropout depending on cable gauge and environmental interference — test the run before committing critical devices. The unit accepts 25W PoE budget, so confirm that your source can sustain this load. Optional external 12V power supply available for installations requiring maximum power headroom or operating outside standard PoE rails. Install the backbox (CBB) near the far end of the coax run to minimize intermediate connectors and maintain signal integrity.
