Overview
The Viking Electronics W2000A is an analog handsfree door entry phone built for surface-mount deployments where durability and audio clarity matter. The W2000A uses an impact-resistant, UV-stable light grey Geloy plastic chassis — it holds color and structural integrity under direct sunlight exposure, which matters for south-facing exterior installs where cheaper plastics chalk and crack within a few seasons. The high-output speaker amplifier delivers up to 70dB at 1 meter with user-adjustable volume, and the microphone gain is independently adjustable — useful when background noise levels vary between day and evening. A 20Hz ring generator with selectable ring counts (2, 3, 10, or 30 rings) and a 1-second-on/3-second-off cadence handles the signaling side without additional hardware.
Compatibility
Designed to interface with the unused analog trunk port of a phone system or operate as a standalone door entry phone — a direct fit for Viking's W-Series FXO door phone deployment model. Works with standard analog telephone interfaces supporting a 20Hz ring signal and up to 3.0 REN ringer load. The standard W2000A uses a single 4-position terminal block for connections; the EWP variant (W-2000A-EWP) swaps to four gel-filled butt connectors for wet-location wiring runs. Maximum loop length is 1.9 km (6,300 ft), giving integrators flexibility in running wire back to a head-end panel. Maximum power run is 45.7 m (150 ft). The UL-listed 120V AC / 13.8V AC 1.25A adapter is included.

Surface mount only — no flush or gang-box recessing. Dimensions are 140 × 115 × 38mm (5.5″ × 4.5″ × 1.5″), shipping weight 1.5 lbs. Operating temperature range is -26°C to 54°C (-15°F to 130°F), with operating humidity up to 95% non-condensing on the standard unit; the EWP variant extends humidity tolerance to 100% condensing for exposed exterior or wash-down environments. Confirm terminal block wiring polarity before powering — the 4-position block carries both audio and signaling on the same connector.
