Valcom VC40R-9T 9-Position Backplane Cable
Overview
The VC40R-9T is a 40-pin ribbon backplane cable that distributes power and signal across 9 card positions inside a Valcom rack chassis. It terminates in 16 connectors along the ribbon, letting you populate a rack with paging, audio, or control cards without home-running individual wiring to each slot. If you're building out or expanding a VC-series rack enclosure and need the internal wiring harness rather than the cards themselves, this is that harness.
Compatibility
The VC40R-9T is built for Valcom's rack-mount backplane system supporting 9 card positions, and pairs with Valcom accessory cards such as the V-420 handheld microphone module and the V-9988 USB message-on-hold device. Confirm your chassis uses the 9-position backplane layout before ordering — backplane cables are sized to a specific position count and are not interchangeable across chassis sizes.
Installation Notes
The cable ships with a backplane terminator, which is required at the end of the run to properly terminate the bus — don't omit it or downstream cards may not read signal reliably. Mount type is rack, so installation is internal to the chassis rather than wall or ceiling mounted. At 0.25 lb, the cable itself adds negligible load to the rack.
