Overview
The ATEN UC3238 is a compact adapter designed to bridge the gap between modern USB-C devices supporting DisplayPort Alternate Mode and legacy HDMI displays or projectors. This converter allows you to output high-resolution video, up to 4K at 60Hz, from laptops, tablets, or smartphones equipped with a USB-C port to any HDMI-compatible screen. It's ideal for presentations in conference rooms, extending displays in digital signage setups, or simply connecting a USB-C source to a 4K monitor without requiring separate drivers or software. Compatibility
This adapter is compatible with any host device featuring a USB 3.1 Type-C port that supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode (DP Alt Mode). It is also Thunderbolt™ 3 compatible. The output is designed for HDMI 2.0 displays and projectors, supporting HDCP 2.2 content protection, which is critical for streaming 4K content from protected sources. It functions as a USB Billboard Device Class, enabling plug-and-play connectivity without manual driver installation on the host system.
Installation Notes
The UC3238 requires no external power source, drawing power directly from the USB-C port of the connected host device.
