Ubiquiti UVC-G6-180-B Panoramic Dual-Sensor PoE Camera
Overview
The Ubiquiti UVC-G6-180-B is a 16MP panoramic dual-sensor camera delivering 180° horizontal coverage in a single frame via PoE+ (95W). Built for UniFi Protect deployments, it eliminates the need for multiple overlapping cameras across wide, open spaces — warehouses, parking structures, retail floors, reception areas, and perimeter monitoring. The multi-sensor architecture captures expanded field of view without telephoto sacrifice, trading reach for breadth. This is the correct choice when a single camera can replace two or three conventional fixed-lens units and your infrastructure already supports PoE+.
Compatibility
The UVC-G6-180-B integrates directly into Ubiquiti UniFi Protect ecosystems via native API and web GUI management. It supports ONVIF protocol, enabling integration with third-party network video recorders (NVRs) and video management software (VMS) that recognize ONVIF streams — verify your VMS's ONVIF version before deployment. PoE+ infrastructure (802.3at or higher) is required; standard 802.3af (13W budget) will not power this unit. Confirm your PoE switch or injector supplies at least 95W to the port feeding the UVC-G6-180-B.
Installation Notes
Mount the camera indoors or outdoors on ceiling, wall, or pole brackets suitable for panoramic domes. Verify environmental ratings match your site (consult the manufacturer datasheet for temperature and humidity limits). Wire PoE+ via a single Cat5e/Cat6 run; no separate 12V supply is needed. During commissioning, ensure the camera's network segment has sufficient bandwidth for 16MP video at 20 FPS — approximate bitrate will be codec-dependent (H.264 vs H.265); H.265 reduces storage requirements by 40–60% relative to H.264 for equivalent quality.
