Overview

The Ubiquiti UCG-MAX is a compact cloud gateway that centralizes network management, security, and routing for distributed UniFi deployments across branch offices, remote sites, and edge locations. At 141.8 x 127.6 x 30 mm and 460 grams without SSD, it fits tight spaces where full-size appliances won't. The UCG-MAX runs Ubiquiti's UniFi OS platform, eliminating the need for separate management appliances and consolidating network infrastructure control into a single cloud-accessible interface. Power delivery via USB Type-C (5V DC/5A) with included 100–240V AC adapter removes dependency on proprietary supplies, simplifying multi-site logistics.

Compatibility

The UCG-MAX integrates across the full UniFi ecosystem: UniFi Network (30+ managed devices), UniFi Protect (15 HD, 8 2K, 5 4K managed cameras), UniFi Access (50 hubs), UniFi Talk, and UniFi Connect. Five 2.5 GbE RJ45 ports (capable of 2.5G/1G/100M/10M negotiation) connect to UniFi switches, APs, cameras, and WAN providers. The device supports up to 300+ simultaneous users and manages 2,000 MAC addresses, scaling for small-to-mid enterprise branch deployments. Selectable NVMe SSD storage (up to 2 TB) enables local NVR functionality for camera recording without external storage dependencies.
