The TL-SG108E is a compact 8-port gigabit network switch designed for small- to mid-scale deployments where managed switching features matter but complexity must stay minimal. All eight ports deliver 10/100/1000 Mbps, eliminating bottlenecks on camera uploads, wireless access point backhaul, or NVR traffic. The "Easy Smart" designation means it supports basic management: MTU/Port/Tag-based VLAN segmentation isolates camera subnets from administrative traffic, QoS prioritizes critical streams during congestion, and IGMP Snooping prevents multicast flooding on low-bandwidth uplinks.
Ideal for integrators building small IP surveillance clusters (8–16 cameras) where you need traffic separation without the overhead of a full managed switch. VLAN support lets you isolate camera VLANs from guest or guest networks — useful in retail, light warehouse, or branch office scenarios. QoS prevents a rogue stream from starving real-time video. IGMP Snooping reduces wasted multicast bandwidth if you deploy multicast-based NVRs or analytics appliances.
The TL-SG108E works with any standard PoE injector or PoE midspan to power cameras on a separate upstream link — it does not include built-in PoE. Ports are standard RJ-45, compatible with all gigabit IP cameras, encoders, and standard network equipment. No fiber uplink option; all eight ports are copper gigabit.
This is an unmanaged-leaning smart switch — no SSH, no SNMP monitoring, no web API. Configuration happens through a simple web UI or CLI. For networks requiring remote management, syslog export, or detailed VLAN trunking, a full managed switch is necessary. Backorder status: confirm availability before design lock.
