Overview

The TL-SG105S is a compact, unmanaged gigabit switch designed for straightforward network expansion in surveillance, access control, and IT infrastructure deployments. It provides five 10/100/1000 Mbps ports with no configuration overhead — plug, power, and route. This model suits environments where you need reliable port density without VLAN, QoS, or management complexity. Common deployment scenarios include extending camera runs from a central PoE source, adding wired endpoints to a network rack, or connecting multiple IP devices in a confined space.

Compatibility

The TL-SG105S works with any device using standard RJ-45 gigabit Ethernet — TP-Link IP cameras, access control systems, NVRs, wireless access points, and enterprise IP infrastructure. No driver or firmware updates required; it operates transparently at Layer 2. Port negotiation is automatic (10, 100, or 1000 Mbps per port), so legacy and modern equipment coexist on the same switch without manual speed assignment.

Power & Environmental

The unit draws AC power (110–240V, external power adapter) — not PoE, so it cannot inject power to downstream devices. If you need to power cameras or access points, deploy a separate PoE injector or PoE-capable network switch upstream. Operating temperature range is 0–40°C (32–104°F), suitable for indoor racks, cabinets, and climate-controlled closets; not rated for outdoor or harsh-environment deployment.
