TP-Link TL-SG1024S 24-Port Gigabit Unmanaged Switch
Overview
The TL-SG1024S is a 24-port Gigabit unmanaged switch built for small-to-medium IP security deployments where you need plug-and-play connectivity without configuration overhead. Each of the 24 ports delivers full 1000 Mbps throughput — enough bandwidth for multiple HD and 4K camera streams per port depending on bitrate. Unmanaged operation means zero VLAN, QoS, or port mirroring setup; just connect devices and traffic flows immediately. Available in both desktop and rackmount enclosures, so it fits wiring closets and cabinet installations equally well.
Compatibility
The TL-SG1024S connects any device with an RJ-45 Gigabit port: IP cameras (Axis, Hikvision, Hanwha, Uniview, Dahua, and other Gigabit models), network video recorders, wireless access points, PoE injectors, network storage, and workstations. No firmware or driver installation required. Note that this switch itself provides no PoE power delivery — if your cameras need remote power, pair the TL-SG1024S with a separate PoE injector or upgrade to a managed PoE-capable switch variant to consolidate cabling.
Installation Notes
Operating temperature range is -40°C to 70°C (storage -40°C to 70°C, 5% to 90% RH non-condensing). For rackmount installations, standard 19-inch rack mounting hardware is required (not detailed in the installation guide excerpt). Desktop placement needs only a flat surface and AC power — no special environmental controls needed for typical office or secure corridor environments. Each port is standard RJ-45; use Cat5e or Cat6 cabling for 1 Gbps links.
