TP-Link POE260S 2.5G PoE+ Injector Adapter
Overview
The POE260S is a single-port PoE+ injector that consolidates data and power delivery into one Ethernet run — solving the common problem of deploying powered devices (IP cameras, wireless access points, sensors) where no wall outlet exists near the endpoint. It supports 2.5G speeds and complies with IEEE 802.3af/at standards, delivering up to 30W of power. Plug-and-play operation requires no configuration; the unit auto-senses the powered device's power class and supplies only what is needed, reducing waste. The compact plastic form factor accommodates wall-mounting or desktop placement, making it practical for small offices, retail locations, branch sites, and edge camera installations where dedicated midspan infrastructure or network switch PoE capacity is unavailable.
Compatibility
The POE260S works with any IEEE 802.3af/at compliant powered device — including compact IP cameras, 2.5G wireless access points, IP phones, and sensors. Two separate RJ-45 ports handle data flow: one non-PoE input (from your upstream network switch or router) and one PoE + data output (to your powered device). Power and data travel over the same cable up to 100 meters (328 feet), eliminating the need for a separate power line at the endpoint. Before deployment, confirm your endpoint device's PoE power class (typically 802.3af = 15.4W max, 802.3at = 30W max) — the POE260S will not exceed 30W, so devices requiring High PoE or higher standards are out of scope. The unit operates on standard UTP category 5e or above cable for 2.5G operation; category 5 cable supports 1G speeds, and category 3/4 drops back to 100 Mbps or 10 Mbps respectively.
Installation Notes
The POE260S draws 100–240V AC, 50/60 Hz from a wall outlet and requires no external configuration. Operating temperature range is 0°C to 40°C (32°F to 107°F); confirm your installation site stays within this window. Wall-mounting holes are spaced 115.7 mm vertically and 37.7 mm horizontally if you choose fixed mounting. Ensure the upstream switch or router port is not already supplying PoE — double-supplying power on one cable risks device damage. The unit automatically detects and accommodates mixed cable types (UTP STP) and automatically determines power based on the downstream device's request, so no manual jumper or dip-switch configuration is needed.
