Overview

The EAP215-BRIDGE KIT is a 5 GHz 802.11ac access point engineered for long-range wireless bridging over distances up to 5 km—useful when you need to connect remote buildings, warehouse zones, or outdoor camera arrays without running Ethernet. It delivers 867 Mbps peak data rate and includes three Gigabit RJ45 ports, allowing you to aggregate multiple IP cameras or network devices at the distant end without a separate switch. IP65 weatherproof enclosure and 6 kV lightning protection handle outdoor temperature swings from −40 °C to 70 °C, so it won't fail during seasonal extremes. Power comes via 12V DC or 24V Passive PoE (adapter included), avoiding dedicated AC runs to remote locations. The included pole-mounting hardware fits standard mast installations. Omada SDN software controller (cloud or on-premise) manages configuration, client limits, and VLAN isolation centrally—eliminating site visits for firmware updates or security adjustments.

Compatibility

Works as a wireless client bridge with any IEEE 802.11ac 5 GHz network or as a repeater/mesh node in Omada-managed deployments. Integrates with Omada Software Controller, Omada Hardware Controller, or Omada mobile app for remote management. Supports up to 8 simultaneous wireless client devices and 4,000 MAC filter rules for access control. VLAN tagging and 802.1X authentication enable integration with enterprise network segmentation—useful if your site backbone enforces zone isolation. Auto-pairing simplifies initial deployment; agile LEDs provide status feedback without network access. Not compatible with non-802.11ac or 2.4 GHz-only infrastructure.

Installation Notes

Mount on a pole or rigid post using the included hardware. Position antenna for line-of-sight to the remote AP or uplink; Fresnel zone clearance above terrain/obstructions is critical at 5 km range. Internally mount the Passive PoE adapter in weatherproof conduit or enclosure near the power source. Connect three Gigabit ports to local cameras or LAN devices; each port runs full Gigabit speed independently. Operating temperature span (−40 to 70 °C) means condensation and thermal cycling are possible; ensure adequate drainage grommets. IP65 rating handles direct rain and dust but does not provide full submersion protection.
