Overview
The E-32TF-IP is a VoIP entry intercom built for controlled-access points where touchless operation matters — lobbies, cleanrooms, food-processing facilities, or any entry where physical contact with a call button is impractical or unacceptable. It uses a motion sensor with an adjustable activation range of one to four inches to trigger calls without requiring the visitor to press anything. The ring LED indicates sensor status at a glance: blue at idle, flashing green when active. Flush-mounting in a standard double-gang box keeps the footprint minimal and the install familiar for any low-voltage technician. G.711u, G.711a, and G.722 audio codec support means call quality is negotiated to whatever the SIP infrastructure supports — G.722 delivering noticeably cleaner wideband audio over G.711 where the platform allows it. The 2 Amp relay contacts let you wire the E-32TF-IP directly to an electric door strike, mag-lock, or SL-2 strobe light — no separate relay module needed. Up to five programmable destination numbers give you sequential or simultaneous ring options without a separate dial plan. The 14-gauge louvered stainless steel faceplate handles physical abuse that would crack or deform lighter enclosures, which matters at a public-facing entry point. At under 4 Watts (PoE Class 1), it draws from the lightest PoE tier — even a budget 8-port PoE switch running near capacity won't strain its power budget.
Compatibility
The E-32TF-IP operates on SIP 2.0 (RFC 3261) and 100BASE-TX, making it compatible with any standards-compliant SIP PBX or hosted VoIP platform — Asterisk, FreePBX, 3CX, Cisco Unified Communications Manager, and most hosted UCaaS providers. It shares the Viking Electronics E-series IP entry phone family platform, and supports parallel programming, firmware updates, and device polling via Viking Device Manager alongside the E-10/20/30-IP series. The flush-mount form factor fits any standard US double-gang electrical box — no proprietary back box required. Power is sourced via IEEE 802.3af PoE from any compliant PoE network switch or midspan injector.
Installation Notes
Verify your gang box depth accommodates the 2.25-inch unit depth before rough-in. Operating temperature range is -40°F to 140°F, making it suitable for unheated vestibules and covered exterior entries in most climates — confirm the installation is not in direct standing water exposure, as humidity tolerance is rated 5% to 95% non-condensing on standard units. Regulatory compliance covers FCC Part 15, Canada ICES-3 Class A, and CE. Relay contact rating is 2 Amps — size your door hardware accordingly; higher-draw mag-locks may require an external relay module. Configure destination numbers and relay behavior through the web UI or Viking Device Manager prior to final mounting to avoid disassembly for initial setup.
